Welcome

Welcome to this site, the purpose of which is to try and ensure that my hobby raises money for a charity that is special to me.

For me taking pictures is not an end in itself, it is a means of enhancing my enjoyment of the countryside. With a camera I am far more alert to, and appeciative of, my surroundings. I simply try to take images of what gives me pleasure. I use as little post capture manipulation as possible, as more often than not this changes what one has actually seen. Many of the images could be improved upon if judged by professional standards, but they meet my criteria of recording something that I have enjoyed. I hope you share something of my pleasure.

The inspiration for this site is the life of Matthew Lewis-Jones. Matthew suffered from Cystic Fibrosis and died aged 22 in early 2007. During his life, Matthew had the wonderful ability to make others feel better for having known him. He, like many other sufferers of this terrible illness, dealt with it calmly and with immense bravery. I want to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, so that they may help other sufferers and perhaps defeat the illness. All the images on this site are available as prints, canvases, postcards, calendars, greetings cards and more, and all the money received will be donated directly to CF trust, having deducted only the cost of paper, ink and postage. This means that at least 80% of the price of each item goes to the trust.

I hope you enjoy the site.
